Abstract:
The team members visited the demonstration sites and talked with local officers. SAAOs and SSA/farmers in Purbodhola and Netrakona Sadar upazila of Netrakona district to evaluate the project activities. During discussion they were cordial and rendered their full cooperation regarding the is its to demonstration sites and demon fields. Team members discussed with the demonstration farmers and demo fields. The members also discussed with the demonstration farmers and farmer's group/association about their participation in the SFFP demonstration programme for balanced fertilization and maintenance of soil health in increasing agricultural production. The member examined the record and relevant data maintained by SAAO and collected other relevant information in respect of management of demonstrations and performance of test crops.
The team members were able to monitor 7 of the 27 executed demonstrations in Rabi season 2004-05 of Purbodhola Upazila, 12 of the 34 executed demonstrations at Sadar of Netrakona district. The demonstration visited area found to be good in some cases. Spontaneous participation of women in homestead vegetable gardening was observed in both the sites. Field days were arranged properly.
