Abstract:
Strengthen the capability of the National Agricultural Research System to develop appropriate technology for farmers through improved planning, manpower development, coordination, allocation and utilization of resources for: 1) Upgrading the quality of research in different sectors viz. crops, forestry fisheries and livestock through formulation National Agricultural Research Policy and Guidelines with a view to improving the socioeconomic conditions of our farmers. 2) Continuing the contract research and collaborative programmes for solving farmers' which are not covered by regular research programmes of the institutes. 3) Strengthening the efforts for transforming the technologies evolved by research institutes to the farmers through DAE. 4) Providing resources for higher education and training in order to upgrade/improve knowledge of the scientists.
