Abstract:
A further analysis in needed by BARC or another agency in the government to determine if such a large number of regional and sub-stations are required. Since many of the sites had very limited amounts of equipment, one must question if the site could be truly productive. It would be a savings to the government to close, sell, or lease the sites or in some way reduce and consolidate many of these locations. Only a few well managed research stations may be required to produce the necessary research results to maintain a strong agricultural sector in Bangladesh.
